Job Description:
Senior I&C Engineer *Per Diem Available Objective We are
seeking a Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer for a client
facility in Meadville focusing on heavy industrial applications.
The position requires an experienced professional capable of
developing sophisticated control systems while maintaining
compliance with industry standards and client specifications. Per
diem is available for candidates not local to the area.
Responsibilities: Engineer and develop comprehensive
instrumentation and control systems in accordance with recognized
industry standards, safety protocols, and client-specific
requirements Evaluate and validate technical vendor submissions for
installation compliance and prepare specialized calculations for
control valves, flow measurement devices, and pressure relief
systems Create advanced control system architectures including PLC
programming and provide on-site technical support throughout
construction phases and system commissioning Generate detailed
equipment specifications while staying current with regulatory
changes and industry best practices Collaborate effectively with
internal project teams and external stakeholders while adhering to
organizational and client design standards Deliver cross-functional
engineering support across instrumentation disciplines as project
needs dictate Develop comprehensive technical documentation
including instrument specifications, electrical drawings, work
scopes, and construction packages encompassing: Process
instrumentation systems (pressure, temperature, level, flow,
analytical) Conduit and cable scheduling for instrumentation and
power systems Cable routing and layout design Electric heat tracing
system engineering Motor control center and electrical panel
configurations Connection diagrams and installation specifications
Critical equipment specifications for MCCs, switchgear,
substations, and transformers Power distribution design and
single-line electrical diagrams Hazardous area classification and
conduit/cable sizing calculations Comprehensive wiring schematics
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation & Controls
Engineering ( I&C ) or related discipline Minimum 10 years of
hands-on engineering and management experience within heavy
industrial sectors Comprehensive understanding of construction site
health, safety, and environmental regulations Proficiency in
electrical calculations and relevant computer applications
Expertise in integrating emerging technologies into established
work processes Multi-disciplinary collaboration experience with
understanding of interface requirements in construction
environments Thorough knowledge of US electrical codes, NEMA, NETA,
and IEEE standards Advanced expertise in electrical site acceptance
testing for digital relays, LV/MV switchgear, motors, cables, and
MCCs Specialized knowledge in low and medium voltage power system
design including 4160V motor controls, protective relaying,
medium-scale transformers, 25kV vacuum circuit breakers, variable
frequency drives, and hazardous area classification Extensive
experience in electrical cabling systems and grounding
methodologies Experience with PLC programming and control system
design Knowledge of process instrumentation including pressure,
temperature, level, flow, and analytical measurement systems
Familiarity with hazardous area classification and intrinsically
safe system design Experience with motor control center and
electrical panel design and layout Proficiency in single-line
diagram development and power distribution system design
Understanding of conduit and cable sizing calculations and
