OverviewWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced Applications Engineer - Sales to join our team in Tonawanda,NY.At Kaman Fluid Power, our Applications Engineers--are responsible for providing technical expertise and pre and post sales support to Account Managers for specific fluid power products (electromechanical, process, or lubrication) across the business unit.Kaman Fluid Power, a business unit of Kaman Distribution Group, is a leading provider of fluid power, motion control,--electro-mechanical, robotics, machine safety, lubrication and process products and highly engineered systems and components for precision hydraulic and pneumatic applications. The key to sustaining our competitive advantage is by investing in the development of our employees, driving innovation, and providing solutions for a better tomorrow.Essential Duties and Responsibilities* Conducts joint customer sales calls with Account Managers/Outside sales team.* Assist outside sales with on-site product demonstrations, product specification assistance and technical support.* Provides technical application-based assistance to customers - gather application information, and ask lead questions to probe for other needed information.* Grows profitable market share by presenting value-added services by keeping current with information of competitive products, customers' machinery and process.* Provides a high level of customer service to all customers and suppliers and ensures proactive engagement and account development activities with all assigned target accounts.* Maintain a productive relationship with internal customer service and the Engineered Solutions Group associates through positive team work. Communicates information on new products and processes. Proactively engages the customer service and the Engineered Solutions team in relationships with customers.* Works with customers to identify cost savings opportunities and provides documentation of these via the Kaman Fluid Power Documented Savings program.QualificationsEducation:* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field Experience: * A minimum of 2-4 years of related experience* Familiarity with the distribution industry (Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Fluid Power, Electrical, Motors, Motion Control, Material Handling, and Bearings) preferred* Knowledge of Fluid Power and/or Parker Hannifin products is a plus* Proven experience in a technical sales organization* Excellent written and verbal communication skills* Strong math and logistical skills* Intermediate computer skills including knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel, and database activity* Fluid Power Certification preferred* Valid driver's license requiredPhysical Requirements:* Capable of lifting up to 25 lbs.Benefits and Company OverviewOur comprehensive compensation package and benefit program includes: * Your choice of medical insurance providers and plans, Dental insurance, and Flexible spending accounts* Company matching 401(k) with a great vesting schedule* Company paid Life (family) & STD insurances, Vacation, Holiday & Sick time* 100% tax-free tuition reimbursement Kaman Distribution Group is comprised of three business units: Kaman Automation, Kaman Fluid Power, and Kaman Industrial Technologies.
