The Reliability Engineer - Maintenance will develop, design and
make improvements related to site equipment and process
reliability.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: The major activities or end results
necessary to fulfill the position requirements on an ongoing basis.

- Serve as subject matter expert in the field of Reliability.
Drive the adoption of established Maintenance & Reliability Best
Practices.
- Design or modify asset care strategies and procedures using
Risk-based and other (RCM, FMEA) methods.
- Collaborate with technical resources to solve chronic equipment
problems.
- Lead equipment failure investigations using root cause
analysis, 5-Why, and/or other analytic techniques.
- Provide technical guidance to production, technical,
engineering, etc., in support of continuous improvement
efforts.
- Provide guidance to maintenance personnel in the precision
repair, maintenance, and installation of equipment.
- Analyze the costs & benefits of equipment options to meet
customer reliability objectives.
- Create or modify site procedures to stay current with industry
best practices.
- Spare parts optimization and critical spare parts
optimization.
- Provides predictive and preventative maintenance training to
maintenance personnel.
- Develop/facilitate development of predictive and preventative
maintenance plans.
- Provide engineering and maintenance support to the plant.
- Liaise with NA Region Technical Services.
- Provide leadership and facilitation of activities supporting
the plant mechanical integrity plan.
- Small capital project management may be required from time to
time. This includes developing a scope, obtaining quotations,
preparing the capital project request, issuing purchase requests,
overseeing contractors, start up and commissioning and all policy
related paperwork necessary.
- May be asked to share "on call" duties for repairs that may
carry beyond the normal workday or on weekends. The site runs
365/24/7.
- You may be asked to share in various "clerical" duties
including filing of PM records, initiating purchase requisitions,
obtaining costs/quotations for pursuing various maintenance
parts.
- Familiar with SAP system which drives the site maintenance work
order system. Or can learn on the job.
- Provide leadership to site mechanics and electricians and other
engineers relative to your Reliability specialty.
- Fill in for the site Maintenance supervisor and/or Maintenance
manager for vacations, or as needed.
- Provide leadership to the site vibration technician. NATURE &
SCOPE:
Qualifications - If you were transferred to a new position, list
the specific education, skills, training, and relevant experience
(in a similar or lower-level position) that your replacement would
need to qualify for this position.
- This is a self-motivated position that requires strong customer
collaboration, leadership, and analytical skills.
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering - mechanical or
chemical preferred; electrical considered.
- Industrial experience with a minimum of 5 years of experience
(7+ strongly preferred) as a Maintenance or Reliability Engineer.
Strong background and broad-based experience in the field of
maintenance, reliability, or engineering preferred. A practical
knowledge of current maintenance & reliability best practices and
condition monitoring technologies is required.
- Responsiveness and professionalism are critical as this
position communicates cross-functionally.
- Must be analytical and can problem solve in a concise and
logical manner.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in
writing, and manage expectations to create trust and
credibility.
- Ability to interpret financial and nonfinancial data and
clearly articulate the economic impact of significant
decisions.
- Process Safety Management experience, and certification as a
Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) is
preferred.
