Job Title: Field Service Technician Department: Rochester Shop Location: Rochester, New York Reports To: Assistant Service Manager Job Overview The Service & Repair Technician performs hands-on technical services for a wide variety of pumps, controls and other types of rotating equipment. This position requires a motivated professional with a high degree of technical aptitude to provide both in-shop and field service to support Industrial and Municipal customers throughout upstate NY. Essential characteristics include good communication skills, customer service skills, teamwork, attention to detail, ability to work independently and flexibility for reasonable travel. Our most successful Field Service Technicians: Possess superior communication, analytical, and organizational skills Exhibit goal-oriented behaviors and time management principles Exude a customer-focused attitude Apply extensive attention to detail to all tasks Toggle between projects and responsibilities with ease Repair, maintenance and trouble-shooting of pumps, blowers, motors, and controls Equipment start-up commissioning and training Understand and adhere to all safety related policies, rules, and guidelines Prepare and maintain clear and accurate documentation for assigned work Maintain an organized, clean & resourceful work environment to include the shop, individual work areas, and service vehicle Possess basic experience with computers and wireless communication devices preferred Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted and 100 lbs. assisted Possess a High school diploma / GED equivalent Possess a Minimum of 5 years pump or other rotating equipment maintenance & repair experience preferred Must be able to pass background and reference checks, as well as a drug test Must maintain an active, REAL ID compliant driver’s license with a clean driving record, or a valid U.S. passport, as required for access to federal facilities Scope of Responsibility: Repair, maintenance and trouble-shooting of pumps, blowers, motors, and controls Equipment start-up commissioning and training Prepare and maintain clear and accurate documentation for assigned work Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, coworkers, and suppliers Maintain an organized, clean & resourceful work environment to include the shop, individual work areas, and service vehicle Understand and adhere to all safety related policies, rules, and guidelines Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours service Frequent day travel throughout upstate NY with some overnight travel required Perform all other duties as assigned Siewert Equipment, a Division of Cummins-Wagner Co, Inc, Gives Back to Employees: Employee Stock Ownership Program Bonus Program Paid time off and holidays 401k Match Flexible Spending Account Life Insurance Comprehensive Health Insurance Long-Term Disability Insurance Our History: Founded in 1960 by "Charlie" Cummins and "Chub" Wagner, Cummins-Wagner began as a one-product, two- employee Company in a one-room office.
