Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Local Contract WCS Healthcare is currently seeking a Step-Down RN for a contract assignment at a Prestigious Hospital in Rochester, NY. Job Function: Day Shift - Evening Shift - Night Shift. 3x12. Delivers patient care using the nursing process grounded in theory, research, and evidence-based practice. Assesses and evaluates patient care needs, applying critical thinking in care planning and management. Integrates assessment and intervention skills effectively in delivering nursing care. Prioritizes patient care tasks including teaching, rounding, discharge planning, and appropriate delegation. Educates patients and caregivers on care plans, transitions, health promotion, and disease prevention. Job Requirements: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Current RN license in the state of New York. 2 years of acute ICU/CCU Stepdown RN experience required; ICU/CCU background highly preferred but not mandatory. BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications from the American Heart Association. Telemetry experience required. EPIC experience is highly desired. Experience with Swanz-Ganz catheters is preferred.
