Registered Nurse (RN) | Medical-Surgical Location: Geneva, NY Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,092 per week Shift Information: 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: Full-Time Shift: Day/Night Rotation Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: One (1) Year in Medical Surgical Environment as a Registered Nurse License: NYS RN Licensure Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA or RQI only), NIHSS Required Must-Have: Minimum of One (1) Year Experience in a Medical Surgical Environment Description: The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient needs, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates care delivery throughout the patient’s episode. The RN develops specialized skills in the area of patients admitted for medical conditions. He/She provides care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations with medical conditions. The RN is accountable for patient and family education to assist in understanding self-care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes to support health and healing. The Registered Nurse is expected to promote comfort and provide emotional support in a healing environment. The RN applies nursing knowledge and skills in the delivery of care. He/She assesses patient and family needs through active listening, social perceptiveness, and analyzing data obtained through observation, technology, or team communication. Creates an individualized plan of care to address the nature and scope of the health problems identified. In collaboration with the patient, family, physician, and healthcare team members, sets goals and monitors the patient's progress. The RN adjusts the plan based on the patient's response or change in condition. Promotes, advocates for, and protects the health, safety, and rights of the patient. Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members to accomplish the best possible patient outcomes. Teaches others as appropriate and delegates tasks and interventions consistent with the individual’s education, training, and scope of practice. Understands personal responsibility to safeguard public safety through compliance with infection prevention strategies. Motivates the patient/family by teaching them what is needed to continue care/healing at home. Assesses patient/family learning styles and structures sessions to maximize understanding. Seeks teachable moments during the care delivery process to emphasize pertinent information. Asks questions to evaluate retention of key points in the self-care process. Provides tools and information to assist the patient’s family after discharge. Documents the education provided and the patient/family response to the education. Systematically evaluates quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and uses the results of quality improvement activities to initiate changes in individual nursing practice and care delivery. Engages in self-evaluation of practice, identifying strengths and areas for professional development. Takes accountability to increase knowledge and enhance skills. Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Nursing practice reflects the importance of making meaningful connections with patients and families. Seeks to develop a helping, trusting, and caring relationship by being present during interactions, listening, communicating, and anticipating the patient/family's needs. Strives to understand what is most important to the patient/family, acknowledging that they are the central focus of all care and services. Embraces the importance of creating a healing environment as a key element of professional nursing practice. Demonstrates skill in the application of interventions, including medication administration. Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated.
