Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/23/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a NY RN license and Epic charting experience. Responsibilities - Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting - Day shifts (3x12 hours) from 7:00 to 19:00 with every other weekend required - Day and evening nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 5:1 (may stretch to 6-7:1), night ratios are 6-7:1 (may stretch to 8-10:1 if staff calls in) - Patient population includes acute respiratory failure, CHF, COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, and sepsis - Specialized procedures include dysrhythmia management, use of rapid response teams, peripheral line care, and non-invasive airway management - Special equipment includes BIPAP, CPAP, high flow oxygen, ventilators, tracheostomies, and chest tubes - EMR used is Epic; Epic experience is required - Floating to similar units required within scope - Support staff includes PCTs for vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and ADLs - In-house phlebotomy team handles all peripheral lab draws; nurses manage PICC and central lines - Scrub color is any combination of navy and white - First-time travelers are accepted - Return staff must have a 1-year break before being eligible for consideration - No on-call duties required - No more than 1 week of requested time off will be allowed in a contract - Expected to adhere to hospital holiday coverage rotation Requirements - Active NY RN license in hand - Minimum of 1 year RN experience required - Current BLS certification - Demonstrated experience with Epic charting - Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management - Experience with rapid response teams, peripheral lines, oxygen devices, and isolation precautions - Must live more than 75 miles from the facility (locals not accepted) - Pending licenses are not accepted Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-664838.
