This part-time position allows you to develop and invest in future
nurses and pays $50.00-$60.00 per hour. Nurses are required to hold
a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) to serve as clinical
instructors. Position Overview: The goal of clinical education
experiences at Trocaire College is to provide nursing students with
multiple applied opportunities for demonstrating and integrating
safe professional knowledge, skills, and attitudes while engaged
with a variety of patients and health care professionals. These
learning experiences occur under the supervision and mentorship of
clinical faculty. The Clinical Instructor has responsibility for
teaching primarily in the clinical and laboratory settings. This
role requires demonstrated knowledge, competence and experience in
a specialty area of practice as a direct care provider and clinical
educator. The role requires excellent organizational, written and
oral interpersonal communication skills. Responsibilities: Manage
the clinical experience of 8-10 students to achieve the curriculum
and nursing program objectives. Provide an environment for a
diverse student population that supports learning through a variety
of teaching/learning methods, a curriculum that builds on previous
knowledge and experience, and a learning sequence that moves from
simple to complex concepts. Establish good working relationships
and regular communication between instructor, full time faculty and
students in order to enhance the clinical experience. Maintain
credentials, licensure and certifications required for teaching and
the profession of nursing. Remain up-to-date technically and apply
evidenced based practice in clinical teaching. Coordinate clinical
patient assignments with facility unit managers/supervisors
according to criteria such as course learning objectives, needs of
patients, availabilities and variety of learning opportunities in
the clinical environment. Prepare creative activities according to
course content to expedite active learning and involvement of each
student. Return clinical assignments/paperwork to students in a
timely manner with constructive feedback. When applicable,
perform/manage Clinical Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) and
individual counseling for students who are not meeting clinical
outcomes. Perform and manage weekly formative student evaluations
in a timely manner. Perform and manage mid-term and final summative
student evaluations in a timely manner. Monitor, track and approve
student attendance records in a timely manner. Enforce and track
student adherence to policies and procedures of the clinical
facility and Trocaire College. Communicate with Nursing Clinical
Education team any concerns and student issues in a timely manner.

that protects the privacy of student educational records.

information. Required Minimum MSN Degree or currently enrolled in
graduate nursing program Current/unencumbered New York State (NYS)
nursing license as a registered nurse Current BLS Certification A
minimum of two years of clinical experience Organizational,
prioritization, and time management skills Strong verbal and
written communication skills Strong interpersonal and professional
skills Conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities Readily
