Registered Nurse (RN) | Medical-Surgical Location: Geneva, NY Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,110 per week Shift Information: 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 14 Weeks Start Date: 4/13/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med/Surg Duration: Full Time Shift: Rotational Day/Night/Weekends/Holidays Hours per Shift: 12 hours (3 shifts per week) Experience: One year of experience in a Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse License: NYS RN Licensure Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA or RQI only), NIHSS Must-Have: Experience in nursing care delivery and patient education Description: The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical skills, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient needs and develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Direct patient care is provided, and the nurse evaluates patient progress while coordinating care delivery throughout the patient's episode. The Nurse develops specialized skills in caring for patients admitted with medical conditions. Care is provided to adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations with various medical conditions. Patient and family education is a key accountability to facilitate understanding of self-care post-hospitalization, including lifestyle changes that support health and healing. The Registered Nurse is expected to promote comfort and provide emotional support in a healing environment. The nurse applies knowledge and skill in the delivery of care. Patient and family needs are assessed through active listening and social perceptiveness. An individualized, age-appropriate, and culturally relevant plan of care is created to address identified health problems. Goals are set collaboratively with the patient, family, physician, and healthcare team, and patient progress is monitored. The plan is adjusted based on patient response or changes in condition. The nurse promotes, advocates for, and protects the health, safety, and rights of the patient. Mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members are encouraged to achieve the best possible patient outcome. Teaching others is appropriate, and tasks are delegated according to the individual's education, training, and scope of practice. The nurse understands the responsibility to safeguard public safety through compliance with infection prevention strategies. Patient and family motivation is enhanced by teaching necessary information for continued care at home. Learning styles are assessed to structure education sessions for maximum understanding. Teachable moments are sought during care delivery to emphasize pertinent information. Retention of key points in the self-care process is evaluated through questions. Tools and information are provided to assist the patient's family after discharge. Documentation of education provided and the patient/family response is required. Quality and effectiveness of nursing practice are systematically evaluated, and results are used to initiate changes in practice and care delivery. Self-evaluation of practice is engaged to identify strengths and areas for professional development. Accountability to increase knowledge and enhance skills is taken seriously. Logic and reasoning are used to assess alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Nursing practice emphasizes making meaningful connections with patients and their families. Efforts are made to develop trusting and caring relationships through presence, listening, communication, and engagement. The nurse strives to understand what is most important to the patient and family, acknowledging them as the central focus of all care and services. Creating a healing environment is recognized as a key element of professional nursing practice. Skill in applying interventions, including medication administration, is demonstrated. Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated. Required tasks may involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, and tissues.
