Job Overview:

Located in Tonawanda, New York, LGUS Accounting Shared Services provides financial services for a variety of businesses within the United States. The group functions as a primary resource to Linde Gases US. LGUS Shared Services consists of Accounting Standards/Sarbanes Oxley, Export Compliance, Accounts Payable, Business Reporting, Capital Accounting, General Accounting, Payroll and Benefits Accounting, Customer Financial Services, and Financial Report and Analysis.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead Coordinator for accounting, reconciliation, analysis, & budgeting/forecasting company's benefit program spend.
• Preparation of Stock Based Compensation & Deferred Tax calculations and analysis.
• Preparation and analysis of account reconciliations for Pension/OPEB, Deferred Compensation, and medical benefit accounts. Must be able to effectively problem solve discrepancy and errors identified in reconciliation process.
• Partner with Accounting Manager on preparation of 401k and Pension Plan Financial Statements and support of the associated audits.
• Assist staff level accountants with more complex accounting areas and implement process improvements in various areas.
• Provide support to Corporate Benefits, FP&A, Payroll, and Accounting teams.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 3 - 5 years of public accounting and/or corporate accounting experience is strongly preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • JD Edwards experience is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of urgency and accountability
  • Ability to work cohesively with team members of various skill sets
  • Ability to problem solve and work independently
