Nurse Educator (RN) Position Overview:
Instructor team members assist in ensuring the general health and
well-being of our residents by providing clinical supervision and
instruction as needed to Nursing Assistant Trainees (while training
or working on the nursing units). Supervise the Nursing Assistant
Trainee on the nursing unit as she/he performs skills taught in the
classroom. Assist with instruction of the Nursing Assistant
Trainees as designated/needed by the Primary Instructor. Ensure
that the Nursing Assistant Trainee Skills Check List is completed
in a timely manner. Provide input into evaluation of Nursing
Assistant Trainee and assist with trainee testing, as needed. Serve
as an instructor in annual required in-services for Nursing
Nurse Educators Do:
The Nurse Educator
will be responsible to work collaboratively with management staff
and nursing goverance representatives to ensure implementation of
orientation and continuing inservice education programs for
facility personnel. Also serves as the secondary Instructor for the
Nursing Assistant 100-Hour Training Program.
The Nurse Educator
will also be responsible for:
- Leading our
in-house BLS certification program; maintains equipment and
- Assistant 100-Hour Training
Program and the facility policies and procedures for direct nursing
- Leading the IV
certification program based on facility needs
- Collaborating with
Nursing Leadership by assisting with annual clinical skills
competency testing for licensed nursing staff on an ongoing
- Serving as a
resource & mentor for the Nurse Preceptors & new nurses in the
facility, providing education and support as appropriate during
department based orientation.
- Leading the
delivery of corporate mandatory inservice education for facility
staff during designated months biannually.
- Planing and leads
General Orientation Program (with support by other department
heads) to acquaint new personnel to facility.
program development, implementation and documentation of the
Nursing Assistant 100-Hour Training Program; serves as an
instructor for scheduled classes.
Prometric testing for Nursing Assistant Trainees and recording of
- Schedules and
delivers CNA and Support Aide orientation programs based on hiring
- Scheduling and
presenting training programs to ensure that Nursing Assistants
complete six hours of inservice education every six

- Enrolling staff in

Educational Requirements & Qualifications
as a Registered Nurse (RN) with current state license in good
standing in the state in which work is performed.
of five (5) years of nursing experience
of one (1) year of experience in geriatric nursing; acute care
computer skills and ability to work with a variety
of platforms and applications including Microsoft Office,
electronic medical records (EMR) and learning management
of a bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred
