Contract Human Resources Generalist (6-8 months)
DKP Buffalo (Delaco Steel, a division of The Diez Group) is
searching for a Contract Human Resources Generalist to assist the
department during a medical leave. This 6-8 month long contract
position will begin as part-time, and will become full time for
June, July, and August.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, attention to details
and able to juggle many tasks successfully at the same time.

The Human Resources Generalist must have a generalist background
to perform a wide range of duties throughout their shift.
Responsible for payroll administration, benefit administration,
recruitment, onboarding, time and attendance, compliance, employee
relations, support in disciplinary matters, exit interviews,
training, safety and clerical duties. Demonstrates the highest
level of confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Administer and process weekly payroll for approximately 150
Administer all steps in the recruitment processes from job
descriptions, posting openings, screening resumes, phone screens,
setting up interviews and extending offers
Administer the drug screen and physical program for all new
Ensure employees receive and understand their benefit elections,
answer questions and assist in online benefit enrollment issues
Assist in timekeeping accuracy and completeness that will ensure
Assist in attendance tracking
Manage employee uniform program per guidelines
Assist in safety matters as needed, including supporting the
Assist in the scheduling of training and conduct training as
needed (Harassment, cell phone, video training on safety items
Assist management in coaching and counseling of employees,
including assisting with write ups and terminations
Support all performance management processes
Support in any unemployment claims, to include gathering
required material and handling hearings
Support in any legal correspondence, including subpoena requests
and employment verifications
Ensure employee records are accurate and up to date (telephone,
addresses, emails, emergency contacts, tax forms, dependents,
Coordinate employee badges and ensure terminated employees are
removed from the system in a timely manner
Other duties as assigned
Strong generalist knowledge in employment law, compensation,
organizational planning, recruitment, organizational development,
employee relations, safety, payroll, employee engagement and

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
This job operates in a professional office environment as well
as a steel and aluminum blanking plant This role routinely uses
standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers,
filing cabinets and fax machines.
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance;
and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently
lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up
to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job
include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral
vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is contract position which will begin as part time and flex
to full time. Monday through Friday 7 AM - 3:30 or 8:30- 5:00 pm.,
with flexibility based on the needs of the business.
This position requires no travel.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma and equivalent training and experience.
Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
3 + years' experience as an HR generalist required
3 + years' experience with HRIS systems, including onboard, time
and attendance and paperless systems
Prior recruitment and sourcing experience required
HR Certification is a plus
OSHA, CPR training a plus
Proficient in Mircosoft office products
Membership in a HR association a plus
