driving to execution. The Director of Compensation, Benefits & HRIS
will report to the VP of Human Resources, and work closely with our
Executive Team, and managers to think strategically about Total

The Director of Compensation, Benefits & HRIS is an enterprise role
responsible for advising on Total Reward best practice and
contributing to the design, implementation administration and
governance of compensation and benefit programs. This
position designs market-based rewards to attract, retain, and
motivate employees, tied to performance and aligned with
organizational values and priorities. This individual also directs
the operations of the organization's human resource information
systems and analyzes business requirements and determines hardware
and software requirements to meet data management needs. Some of
the key responsibilities of this role include, but are not
limited to the following:
Collaborates with external compensation consultant(s) as necessary;
develops enterprise compensation policies, guidelines and
procedures. Maintains job evaluation system and ratings for salary
grading (includes reviewing job questionnaires, conferring with
managers and employees, evaluating jobs and preparing written
reports on findings).
Conducts periodic market and internal analysis; recommends changes
in pay levels and salary structure adjustments that are
cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends, retention
initiatives and corporate objectives.
Develops and communicates detailed guidance to site management for
wage administration and communication to ensure uniformity in
Provides education, coaching and support to Total Reward principles
and processes so they can guide line managers in compensation
Supports charter, leads and establishes the process and regular
meeting schedule for an enterprise compensation committee; provides
analysis and recommendations for committee review.
HRIS / HCM:
Provides leadership and recommendations in the needs analysis,
design, selection, development and automation of HRIS to maximize
productivity, efficiency, and support Enterprise
Functions as the project manager for system implementation,
upgrades and process improvement projects; analyzes impacts and
estimates labor effort to implement new solutions or
Provides support for HRIS including, but not limited to,
researching and resolving HRIS problems, unexpected results or
process flaws; performs scheduled activities; recommends solutions
or alternate methods to meet requirements.
Directs the Benefits Department and overall administration of
employee benefits programs such as the Health and Welfare plan and
collaboratively with benefits broker consultants, insurance company
representatives and/or any other representatives.
Develops company cost information for new plans and makes
recommendations to management concerning sharing of costs between
employer and employee.
Works collaboratively with 401(k) record-keeper and investment
advisor and consultants.
Oversees annual contribution testing, 5500 filing and
Evaluates and compares existing company benefits with those of
other employers by analyzing other plans, surveys, and other
sources of information.
Plans, develops and/or participates in area and industry surveys;
analyzes results of surveys and develops specific recommendations
for review by management.
Reviews and analyzes changes to state and federal laws pertaining
to benefits and reports necessary or suggested changes to
management; coordinates company benefits, with government sponsored
Maintains current communications and updates with VP of HR
regarding compensation, benefits and HRIS activities.
Participates in local/national associations; attends professional
conferences targeted to further develop specialized compensation,
benefits & HRIS expertise.
Travels as needed to provide on-site support and
Minimum of six (6) years of experience specializing in Compensation
and Benefits in a senior HR capacity to include benefits
administration and compensation analysis
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
Experience with a variety of compensation, benefit, HRIS
platforms/vendors/TPAs, and self-insured
Current, valid driver license for occasional travel
Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation and SPHR or
SHRM-SCP designation preferred
Elderwood expects all current and new
