Job Description Job Description Senior Design Engineer – Vehicle Body Systems Location: Penn Yan, NY (Finger Lakes Region) Summary Seeking a hands-on Senior Design Engineer with strong SolidWorks surface modeling experience to design thermoformed exterior and interior body components for commercial buses and specialty vehicles. Responsibilities Design production-ready surface and solid models in SolidWorks Develop large thermoformed parts (fascia, cladding, wheel arches, panels) Translate design concepts into manufacturable solutions Repair and optimize imported CAD data (STEP/IGES) Support tooling, prototyping, and production launches Create drawings, BOMs, and GD&T documentation Qualifications BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field 5 years of vehicle body or thermoformed part design experience Advanced SolidWorks surface modeling skills Knowledge of plastics, adhesives, and vehicle body assemblies Preferred Bus, truck, or van body experience ABS, TPO, or similar materials FMVSS/ADA and ERP/PLM exposure
